Internet and IoT startup Atlas Obscura completed $6.8 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.
Atlas Obscura is a blog that serves as a travel guide with articles, travel tips, facts, and event details about the world’s hidden wonders. It covers topics that include miniature cities, glass flowers, books bound in human skin, gigantic flaming holes in the ground, bone churches, balancing pagodas, homes built entirely out of paper, and more. The company was launched in 2009 by Joshua Foer and Dylan Thura.
