G2 Crowd announced it has secured $30 million in Series B financing led by Accel Partners. Pritzker Group Venture Capital and G2 Crowd’s founders, as well as LinkedIn also participated in the round.

G2 Crowd is a peer-to-peer, business software review platform headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Until recently, selecting business solutions was hard, risky and inherently biased. G2 Crowd empowers business buying decisions by highlighting the voice to the customer. Its review platform leverages more than 170,000 independent and authenticated user reviews read by nearly 900,000 buyers each month.

According to TechCrunch, LinkedIn’s investment in G2 Crowd stems out of the two companies’ existing and future partnerships. Right now, G2 Crowd requires users to register themselves via their LinkedIn profiles as a form of authentication. LinkedIn, in turn, cross-posts those reviews to users’ profiles.

In its announcement, the company said it will use the funds to speed up development and marketing.
