Google Acquires Digital Media/AR/VR Startup Owlchemy Labs

Owlchemy Labs announced it has been acquired by Google. 

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, Google is investing significant resources into virtual reality as it looks to make its Android smartphone OS the de facto platform for VR through its Daydream initiative.

Owlchemy Labs is an independent game development studio that offers silly, highly polished games for download. Utilizing the Unity Platform for its development activities, the company’s products are available for iPhone, iPad, Android, web, XBLA, and PSN platforms.
