WaterBit, an autonomous irrigation solutions company, completed a $11.4 million Series A round of financing led by New Enterprise Associates, with participation from TJ Rodgers, former CEO of Cypress Semiconductor, and Heuristic Capital.

The startup’s objective is to enable growers to maximize the use of their scarce resources and increase yields. According to the company, its AIS system is designed to control local irrigation by considering plant stage, soil conditions, and weather at a level of granularity and accuracy that is not possible with manual control or using programmable logic controller-based methods.

WaterBit plans to use the funds to accelerate its product development with the goal of fully autonomous irrigation, as well as expanding its sales and marketing efforts.
