Podcast Network Closes $5 Million in Series A Funding

Wondery, a leading podcast network, raised $5 million in a Series A round, led by Greycroft’s Alan Patricof, Lerer Hippeau, and Advancit Capital. Other investors in the company include BAM Ventures, Water Tower Ventures, Fox Networks Group, BDMI, and industry experts Stanley Shuman and Michael Kassan.

Wondery is a top 10 publisher on Podtrac with six Number One podcasts since its 2016 launch, including Dirty John, Young Charlie, American History Tellers and Business Wars. They’ve been  featured in USA Today, The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, The New Yorker, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, and NBC’s Today show.

Wondery plans to expand its lineup of original podcasts as well as grow the audience of its existing original and partner shows.
