SolidEnergy, which designs and manufactures the “lightest practical rechargeable cells in the world,” closed $30 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.
According to the company, it supplies Li-Metal cells to aeronautics, space, and consumer drones customers whose high-altitude pseudo satellites provide free, open access to the Internet and education to children in rural areas. The batteries are also used to help produce autonomous electric flying taxis to reduce pollution and traffic, as well as choreographed drone light shows.
