Direct-to-fan-app Spotlite brought in $10 million in financing. Sequoia Capital and BlueRun Ventures participated in the round.
The free platform offers independent or up-and-coming musical artists the opportunity to gain exposure by singing karaoke, using original and cover songs. Users can share their talent, join contests, gain fans, or just support their favorite singers and musicians.
The company will use the funding to build out the product, make key hires, and expand its marketing and advertising efforts.
