Artificial Intelligence Startup Acquires $6.5 Million

AI messenger startup Replika announced the completion of $6.5 million in Series A financing, led by Khosla Ventures, Sherpa Capital, and Salesforce Ventures.

According to the company, the chatbot is an “AI friend” that learns users’ preferences to help them find places to eat, do web search, make plans, and play trivia games. Replika was created by Luka, a team of software engineers that launched a chatbot based on deep neural networks. Replika is available for iOS and Android on the App Store and Google Play Store.

This latest round will be used to help Replika improve its technology and expand its user base.
