Agriculture Technology Startup Raises $5.7 Million

FarmWise brought in $5.7 million in seed financing. Playground Global and Felicis Ventures led the round. Basis Set Ventures, Valley Oak Investment Partners and Cruise and Fitbit also participated in the funding.

FarmWise builds smart, autonomous robots that help to solve the problem of weeds in agriculture by providing high-precision weeding and thinning, replacing herbicides, increasing yield, and adapting to different crops.

The company said this funding will be used to pilot their first autonomous machines on vegetable farms in the U.S., and to help the company expand its engineering team.
