Co-working space provider WeWork announced it has purchased offline social network Meetup.
Founded in 2002, Meetup allows users with a common interest to organize or join offline group meetings in various localities around the world. Users enter their city or their postal code and tag the topic they want to meet about – such as running a marathon, joining a book club, or setting up a business conference – and Meetup helps them locate a group to arrange a place and time to meet.
