Security Startup Pwnie Express Acquires $8 Million

Pwnie Express, a startup that provides threat detection for wireless and wired devices in and around workplaces, completed $8 million in financing led, by .406 Ventures, Ascent Venture Partners, and Fairhaven Capital. Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies also participated.

According to the company, Pwnie Express’ automated solutions strive to detect and fingerprint any wireless and wired devices from phone to thermostat — on or around networks that are open pathways for attackers — in order to prioritize their security response, reduce alert fatigue, and provide situational intelligence.
