Electric Skateboard Maker Brings In $8 Million

Inboard Technology Inc., a manufacturer of high-performance lightweight transportation solutions, announced it raised $8 million in Series A financing, led by Upfront Ventures, with participation from Sunstone Capital and LION Smart.

Inboard created M1™, a skateboard with motors inside the wheels. Paired with a battery hidden inside the deck, the board looks and feels like a traditional non-powered skateboard, while transporting users at up to 24 miles per hour. M1 also features a swappable battery with a 10-mile range.

This new investment will enable Inboard to accelerate manufacturing and distribution.
