According to a recent SEC filing, robotics startup Zume Pizza has raised $48 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.
Zume Pizza is a store-less pizza company that uses robots to bake its pizzas. Zume uses high-quality, natural ingredients sourced directly from trusted farmers and other producers. Along with its Zume Trucks, outfitted with dozens of smart ovens, Zume Pizza employs a fleet of cars and scooters to optimize delivery times. Customers can track orders every step of the way. According to the company, its pizza-making robots, named Pepe, Giorgio, Marta, Bruno, and Vincenzo, perform all low-skill, repetitive, and dangerous tasks, giving human employees more opportunities to do creative, high-skill jobs.
