Sports gear marketplace SidelineSwap Closes $2 Million

Sports gear marketplace SidelineSwap closed $2 million in seed financing. Global Founders Capital, Haystack Fund, RiverPark Ventures, and Full Stack participated in the funding.

SidelineSwap, founded in 2012 by former college athletes and coaches, is where athletes buy and sell their sports gear. It is a vertical marketplace for the $60 billion sporting goods market, connecting athletes through social commerce. Each month, thousands of users sell hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of their gear via the SidelineSwap platform.

According to the company, this funding will allow SidelineSwap to make significant enhancements to its online marketplace for buyers and sellers and attract more users by widening its reach and adding new sports.
