SessionM Hires Amelio Vázquez-Reina to Lead Its Data Science, AI and Machine Learning Division

Leading customer engagement platform SessionM, announced that it has hired Amelio Vázquez-Reina as vice president of data science, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. He was also a research fellow at Harvard University’s Center for Brain Science.

In this new role, Vázquez-Reina will work closely alongside the data engineering team to lead strategic implementation of new AI solutions into the company’s platform.

Before joining SessionM, Vazquez-Reina held the role of principal data scientist and manager at DataXu, where he launched and managed the system optimization team. Prior to DataXu, he was a scientist at BBN Technologies in their multimedia division and tech lead for one of their main intelligence and advanced research programs.

“Amelio’s role is an integral part of our focused investment in what we believe to be the core pillar for the future of our platform,” said Lars Albright, chief executive officer and cofounder of SessionM. “His leadership and strategy development will be vital as we continue to grow both the data science and data engineering groups within the company.”

Vázquez-Reina holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Tufts University.
