IGN Entertainment Acquires Humble Bundle for Undisclosed Sum
American video game and entertainment media company IGN Entertainment announced the acquisition of Humble Bundle, an online digital distribution platform.
Founded in 2011, Humble Bundle is a digital storefront for video games and ebooks that contributes parts of its revenue to charities. The company puts together bundles of games and books that can be purchased at a chosen price the customer thinks is fair. Then customers can choose whether their money should go to the game developer or book publisher, a charity, or Humble Bundle itself. The company also offers the digital storefront the Humble Store, which features individual games at set prices with frequent discounts and a portion of sales also going to select charities.
The startup had previously raised $4.48 million.
