Impossible Objects completed $6.4 million in Series A financing led by OCA Ventures. IDEA Fund Partners, Huizenga Capital Management, Inflection Equity Partners and Mason Avenue Investments also participated in the funding.

Impossible Objects has developed a new 3D printing process that is composite-based and produces stronger, high precision, geometrically complex parts with a wider variety of materials. The company produces parts using carbon fiber, fiberglass and Kevlar, among other materials, with mechanical properties that are stronger than other methods. This proprietary process allows a freedom of design and build capability for geometries that were previously not possible.

In its announcement, Impossible Objects said this funding will accelerate the company’s ability to develop its technology and roll it out to companies worldwide.
