Digital Media Startup Pluto.TV Closes $5 Million

Pluto.TV announced the close of $5 million in financing led by Samsung Ventures.

Pluto TV is a leading free over-the-top content television service in America, carrying and programming more than 75 channels in partnership with major TV networks, movie studios, publishers, and digital media companies. Millions of viewers tune in each month to watch premium news, TV shows, movies, sports, live events, cartoons and trending digital series. Pluto TV recently expanded into the European market with the purchase of Quazer, a newly launched lean back TV service that ranked #1 in the German Apple TV store.

The funding will be used to further expand Pluto TV’s product, content, and marketing efforts.
