Cummins Acquires Brammo for Undisclosed Sum
Cummins, an American Fortune 500 corporation that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products, announced it has acquired transportation startup Brammo.
Brammo’s Embedded OpenType (EoT) platform provides for rapid go-to-market of lithium-ion energy storage with full system integration into vehicle, device, or portable storage systems. In close collaboration with leading original equipment manufacturers, Brammo also develops scalable EoT solutions from 1.5 KwH to clusters of 100 KwH and everything in between. From direct drive to multi-speed gearboxes and axial flux to radial flux motors, Brammo has specified commercial off-the-shelf and custom electric drivetrains for a variety of applications.
The company previously raised $73 million from investors including Terracap Ventures and Polaris Industries.
