Consumer Startup Feather Secures $3.5 Million

Feather closed $3.5 million in seed financing led by Bain Capital Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. SV Angel, New Enterprise Associates, FUEL Capital, Novel TMT Ventures, Liquid 2 Ventures, and FundersClub also participated.

Feather is a modern-day furniture rental company with a goal to help people own less and live more by renting bedroom, living room, and home office furniture products with free delivery, assembly, and pickup options. Monthly rental pricing depends on furniture type. For instance, the bedroom package costs $99 a month and includes five pieces – dresser, nightstand, table lamp, platform bed, and mattress.

The startup plans to use the new funding to build out its team and expand to new markets. Their consumer products are now available in San Francisco and NYC, but they also offer an office furniture rental service that delivers all over the U.S.
