Clean Tech Startup Brings In $29.8 Million

Achates Power, which is developing an improved combustion engine, announced it has secured $29.8 million in Series D financing from OGCI Climate Investments.

The company’s engines, according to the company, increase fuel efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and cost less. The firm maintains that  its engines have demonstrated fuel efficiency improvements of more than 20 percent compared to the best clean diesel engines, and approximately 55 percent improvement relative to comparable gasoline engines.
