CastBox Brings In $16 Million

Digital media startup CastBox announced it has raised $16 million in Series A financing led by Qiming Ventures. Funding participants also included IDG Capital Partners, GSR Ventures, ZhenFund, and SIG China.

CastBox’s leading global spoken audio platform allows users to listen, create, and share their favorite audio content. The app is localized in more than 70 languages and is home to more than 50 million episodes of podcasts, radio shows, audiobooks and more. Currently available on Android, iOS, and Amazon, CastBox also supports full integration with smart speakers for optimal user compatibility.

The startup will use its Series A funding on marketing, producing original content, and hiring engineers.
