Body Labs announced that it has been acquired by Amazon. Financial terms were not disclosed, though multiple unconfirmed reports indicate a price range of between $70 million and $100 million.

Body Labs provides human-aware AI solutions that focus on how people move and how they are shaped relative to their environments. The AI, named SOMA, is trained using body data and computer vision to sense, see, and predict 3D human motions and shapes. Apparel companies can use SOMA accurately to predict and measure the 3D shape of their customers using just photos or videos. VR companies can use SOMA to detect 3D motion and shape referencing user videos to transfer actions into virtual environments.

Body Labs had previously raised $13.2 million from investors including FirstMark, Intel Capital, and Catalus Capital.
