Transportation Startup JingChi Brings In $52 Million
Chinese startup JingChi announced the close of $52 million in Series A financing. Three investors participated in the round, among them Qiming Ventures and NVIDIA.
JingChi is a mobility company using artificial intelligence to make every trip safe, efficient, and cost-effective. The company’s technology includes LiDAR data, the backbone for perceiving objects around the vehicle; high definition map, which enable the autonomous vehicle to see much farther than onboard sensors; and deep learning powered perception, which enables intelligent perception and understanding of the driving environment.
In its announcement, the company said the investment allows JingChi to rapidly expand its research and development teams globally, and ramp up deployment of a fully Level 4 autonomous driving test fleet in China by the end of 2017.
