Consumer startup Tenka Labs announced it has raised $2 million in seed financing from an undisclosed investor.

Tenka Labs is a venture-backed startup developing a line of electronic building blocks called Circuit Cubes, which is on a mission to inspire kids, ages five and older, to create fun projects and become more tech-literate in circuitry. Unlike other circuit toys on the market, Circuit Cubes offers a unique transparent design that lets kids see how circuits connect to light LEDs, drive motors, or animate LEGO-style brick creations. Circuit Cubes can be combined horizontally, vertically, or diagonally for unlimited project designs and endless hours of creative play. The product set comes with three cubes and with variable speed motors, rechargeable batteries, switches, LEDs, buzzers, and BLE modules. Circuit Cubes also fully integrates with LEGO-style bricks.

The company revealed that proceeds will be used to assist the company in launching its products in retail channels for the holiday season.
