Pendo Acquires Insert for Undisclosed Sum
Product platform Pendo announced today the acquisition of Insert, a Tel Aviv-based mobile engagement platform. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Insert was founded in 2015 by the Worklight team (now IBM MobileFirst). It offers a broad set of customizable features – “inserts” – that can be launched into any live app in minutes, without coding. Insert was created to enable mobile marketers and product managers independently to drive user loyalty and conversion, without relying on development resources and without waiting for app store approvals. Its features include videos, banners, messages, and surveys.
Prior to the acquisition, Insert had raised $15M capital from Battery Ventures and Shlomo Kramer, Israel’s prominent angel investor.
According to the announcement, Pendo customers will now be able to bring detailed visibility into engagement throughout the user journey across web and mobile channels and build the best possible experiences for their users. Insert’s Tel-Aviv office will become Pendo’s first international office and development center.
“Insert’s mobile capabilities directly complement Pendo’s approach to web applications,” said Todd Olson, CEO of Pendo. “Combined, both platforms will provide a complete solution for product teams, helping them to create products customers love — whether they are web, hybrid, or native mobile.”
