New Product Alert: Lauren

Lauren is a “performance artificial intelligence product for the smart home.” The three-day “performance” begins with installing a collection of networked device objects, including cameras, sensors, outlets, faucets, door locks, lights, and other electronic devices. For the next three days, Lauren remotely watches over the house 24/7 using the installed cameras and sensors. Owners can direct Lauren via voice commands as they would Siri or Alexa. Lauren can control users’ homes remotely using the installed networked switches and devices, and can also anticipate needs and learn to accommodate users’ desires..

At the end of the three-day installation, Lauren uninstalls all the devices. The app goes back through all the captured camera footage and chooses a favorite moment, leaving the house owner with a GIF of that moment.
