Mobile Startup Transit Secures $5 Million

Transit announced it has secured $5 million in Series A financing led by Accel Partners. Accomplice, Real Ventures, and BDC Venture Capital also participated.

Transit aims to simplify local travel in 130 cities worldwide. The app shows users nearby transport options and departure times in big text and bright colors. Users can plan trips, set reminders, and get notifications about transportation disruptions.

Transit also integrates other sustainable transport modes — bikesharing, carsharing and ride-hailing — so users can determine the best way to get from point A to point B.
