Computer vision startup Matroid announced it has raised $10 million in Series A financing. New Enterprise Associates and Intel Capital participated in the round.

Founded by Stanford University faculty, Matroid launched its first computer vision product on March 25th. The product allows users to create computer vision detectors that recognize people, events, and objects. It can also be used to monitor TV streams by setting up real time alerts about people, events, or logos appearing on TV channels. Compatible with thousands of IP cameras, Matroid’s computer vision product can also be used to receive security notifications.

The company revealed that, in addition to today’s financing, Matroid is announcing that it is working with Intel to assist the company with executing computer vision tasks on its chips.
