DoorDash Acquires Rickshaw for Undisclosed Sum

On-demand food delivery startup DoorDash is announcing its acquisition of Rickshaw, another startup with a similar offering.

Rickshaw, founded in San Francisco, CA, in May, 2013, is a same-day local delivery platform that makes it simple for businesses to provide fast, dependable, high-touch deliveries to their customers. Typical items delivered using Rickshaw include laundry, gifts, office snacks, and meal subscriptions. The startup uses smart algorithms and mobile apps for dispatch, routing, and tracking to ensure high success rates and delighted customers.
