Orion Labs announced it has secured $18.3 million in financing. The round was led by Allen & Company. Argentum Capital Partners, The Thermo Companies, Avalon Ventures, Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, and FUEL Capital also participated in the offering.

Orion Labs is a San Francisco-based company dedicated to connecting people, organizations and machines through seamless voice communication. The company’s voice platform provides greater collaboration between individuals, groups, and machines in real-time anywhere in the world. Through its push-to-talk hardware and voice platform, the company aims to help people communicate more efficiently and generate higher productivity. Orion Labs was founded by cloud infrastructure pioneers Jesse Robbins and Greg Albrecht, who were inspired by years of experience using traditional radio communications as firefighters and EMTs.

According to the company, funds will be used to expand sales and partnerships and to accelerate the roll-out of new voice services for business productivity, such as Orion’s real-time translation voice bot.
