UnifyID announced the close of $20 million in Series A financing. New Enterprise Associates, Andreessen Horowitz, StartX, and Accomplice participated in the funding.

UnifyID is building an identity platform based on implicit authentication. The company’s solution allows people to identify themselves in a unique way that is extremely difficult to forge or crack. The system uses a combination of factors that are unique to individuals but don’t require any user action, such as location, habits, and signals from the devices they carry and the sensors around them. UnifyID’s authentication technology use proprietary machine-learning algorithms to identify these unique signals and help users log in to multiple devices without having to remember all the passwords.

According to the company, this latest round of funding will be used to expand the team to broaden enterprise trials, accelerate research, and continue to build the company’s position as a leader in implicit authentication and behavioral biometrics.
