Fulcrum BioEnergy Raises $5 Million

Alternative energy startup Fulcrum BioEnergy announced it has raised $5 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.

Fulcrum BioEnergy is on a mission to create a clean, low-cost and sustainable source of domestic transportation fuel. Unlike existing production methods for corn and other feedstocks, the company’s approach relies on a uniquely abundant and renewable material: municipal solid waste. Fulcrum utilizes a proven thermochemical process to convert municipal solid waste into low-carbon, low-cost transportation fuels, including jet fuel and diesel.
