Communications Startup Hustle Secures $8 Million

Hustle announced the completion of $8 million in Series A financing. Four investors contributed to the round: Social Capital, Canvas Venture Fund, Omidyar Network, and Twilio Fund.

Hustle is a peer-to-peer text messaging platform that seeks to provide organizations with an affordable, efficient, and effective tool to reach their supporters and customers. Using Hustle, customers can facilitate two-way conversations to maintain genuine, personal dialogues with hundreds, thousands, and even millions of people.

The company revealed that Hustle plans to use the new capital to build out its API and integrations platform, expand its product offerings around fundraising and event campaigns, build its sales and marketing teams as it expands into new verticals, and achieve broad adoption in the political and advocacy industry in advance of the 2018 U.S. elections.
