OwnBackup announced it has raised $7.5 million in Series B financing. Four investors contributed to the round: Insight Venture Partners, Innovation Endeavors, Oryzn Capital, and Salesforce Ventures.

OwnBackup is a leading cloud-to-cloud backup and restore vendor. The company provides secure, automated, daily backups of SaaS and PaaS data, as well as sophisticated data compare and restore tools for disaster recovery. OwnBackup’s solution complements SaaS vendors’ built-in data-protection mechanisms by covering data loss and corruption caused by human errors, malicious intent, integration errors, and rogue applications. The solution also provides enterprises with the performance and reporting required to meet compliance regulations in a number of industries.

OwnBackup is the top-ranked backup and restore independent software vendor on the Salesforce.com AppExchange, and it was selected as a Gartner 2015 “Cool Vendor” in Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery.

The company revealed that it will use the latest investment to expand the team, scale its business, deliver transformative solutions, and raise awareness of the need for proactive protection of valuable enterprise SaaS-based data.
