Electronics startup Revolar announced the close of $1 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.
Revolar creates and manufactures wearable tech that aims to help people keep themselves and their loved ones safe. Cofounders Andrea Perdomo and Jacqueline Ros started the company in 2013 after both experienced traumatic assault experiences of close family members.
The company’s latest wearable is called the Instinct. At the click of a button, it can let users’ loved ones identify their GPS locations and whether they’re safe, scared, or in an emergency situation. Instinct also has check-ins, step tracking, “ring me,” and additional functions intended to help minimize danger.
