Security startup Protenus completed $3 million in Series A financing. Three investors participated in the round: Kaiser Permanente Ventures, F-Prime Capital, and LionBird.

Protenus’ mission is to be health IT’s next-generation immune system. Trusted by major healthcare organizations, the Protenus platform allows privacy and security teams to protect health data from misuse using clinical context, advanced analytics, and machine learning. Protenus provides accurate, timely, and actionable alerts to suspicious activity in electronic health records, eliminating the need for reactive access log reviews, mitigating risk and public exposure, and enhancing trust throughout healthcare organizations.

According to the company, the new investment will be used to bolster Protenus’ product, expand product offerings, and accelerate sales growth.
