Mobile Startup SnapTravel Secures $8 Million

SnapTravel announced it has raised $8 million in Series A financing. iNovia Capital, Lightbank, Bee Partners, and Hedgewood participated in the funding.

SnapTravel provides great hotel deals for users via SMS and Facebook Messenger. Instead of searching through dozens of hotel booking sites, users simply text questions like “find me a hotel in Chelsea, New York,” and the SnapTravel chatbot will respond instantly with suggestions and information. The company uses a combination of machine learning and natural language processing to surface the best hotel recommendations at the best price.

In its announcement, the company said the funding will be used to double down on technology development and fuel growth.
