Software startup LiveStories announced it has secured $10 million in Series A financing. Three investors participated in the round: Ignition Partners, True Ventures, and Founder’s Co-op.

Founded in 2013 on a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, LiveStories is a data storytelling platform for the public sector. Governments can use LiveStories to engage communities, promote data-driven decision-making, and improve collaboration. The company’s web-based platform makes it easy for data novices and experts alike to explore, share, and present data. The goal is to allow entire teams to collaborate around data and to engage internal audiences, local partners, and the public with beautiful data stories and compelling insights.

According to the company, LiveStories will use the funds to deepen its investment in its core product offering through the introduction of new features, enabling customers to build even more engaging data stories and bringing greater transparency to civic data. The funds will also be used to hire across the organization, with a focus on building out the company’s sales, marketing, and product teams.
