Insight Engines Raises $15.8 Million

Enterprise IT startup Insight Engines announced it has secured $15.8 million in Series A financing. Six investors contributed to the round, among them August Capital, Real Ventures, and Data Collective.

Insight Engines’ software enables organizations to unlock the value of machine data so it becomes accessible and actionable to anyone in an organization, from analysts to executives. Its technology uses natural language, or “plain English,” search queries against machine data, eliminating the need to learn and use complex search languages. Insight Engines’ flagship product is Insight Engines Cyber Security Investigator for Splunk, which allows cybersecurity professionals to use natural language search on data in Splunk quickly to detect, investigate, and visualize cyberthreats.

The company revealed that the funding will be used to accelerate its product roadmap and expand its sales and marketing teams.
