Twenty-five-year-old IT services company Arcserve announced today that it has acquired data storage startup Zetta. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Zetta offers fast, painless, error-free recovery of business-critical data and applications. The company was founded in 2008 by Internet pioneers dedicated to advancing innovation in the cloud and creating better data protection for the modern business. Since then, Zetta has attracted more than 1,600 customers that rely on the company to keep mission-critical data safe from disaster. Prior to the exit, Zetta had raised $45.9 million in venture capital funding.

Arcserve developed an early data protection solution, called Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP), which is delivered as an all-in-one platform for cloud, virtual, and physical environments.
