Transportation Startup Alta Motors Raises $27 Million

Alta Motors just closed $27 million in Series B financing. Three investors participated in the round, among them Grassy Creek Ventures and Mountain Nazca.

In the $100-billion global lightweight vehicles market, Alta is leading the shift to electric by building better motorcycles: faster, easier, better designed, and cheaper than their gas equivalents. The company’s first product, the RedShift, has been called “the first electric [motorcycle] to demonstrate a clear superiority over its gas predecessors.”

The company revealed that it will use the new funds to increase distribution and production of its all-electric RedShift motorbike line to a level where it is self-sustaining.
