Submittable Secures $5 Million

Software startup Submittable announced it has raised $5 million in Series A financing from True Ventures.

Submittable is a cloud-based online curation platform used by thousands of organizations in more than 23 different countries to curate digital content, applications, film and audio submissions. The application, which is SaaS-based, aims to be robust, secure, simple to use, and to save publishers and organizations time and money.

The company revealed that it will use the proceeds to build out what CEO Michael Fitzgerald calls its “opportunities marketplace.” The marketplace would allow Submittable algorithmically to generate recommendations for writers and filmmakers about where to submit their work.
