Spektral Raises $2.8 Million

Artificial Intelligence startup Spektral closed $2.8 million in financing. Litecap and Amp Ventures participated in the round.

Founded in 2014 by Henrik Paltoft and Toke Jansen, Spektral is a visual effects company that applies machine learning to image and video editing. Spektral’s engine, which combines deep neural networks and spectral graph theory with the computing power of modern GPUs, can process images and video from the camera in real-time (at a speed of 60 frames per second) directly on the device.

In its announcement, the company said it will use the funds to continue development of its machine learning-powered, real-time green screen technology.
