Security Startup Minerva Raises $8 Million

Minerva announced it has secured $8 million in Series A financing. Three investors participated in the round: Amplify Partners, Stage 1 Ventures, and Webb Investment Network.

Minerva prevents cyber-attacks without the need for prior detection. Rather than waiting for attacks to happen, Minerva’s patent-pending unique Environment Simulation Technology (EST) creates an environment in which malware refrains from execution (keeps sleeping). Minerva does this without any reliance on signatures or other detection-focused approaches.

In its announcement, the company said the investment will support immediate growth opportunities in global sales and marketing efforts.
