Software startup Algolia completed $53 million in Series B financing. Eight investors participated in the round, including Accel Partners, SaaStr Fund, Alven Capital Partners, Point Nine Capital, and Storm Ventures.

Algolia’s goal is to be the most reliable platform for building search. The company’s hosted search API powers billions of queries for thousands of websites and mobile applications every month, delivering relevant results in an as-you-type search experience in less than 50 milliseconds anywhere in the world.

In its announcement, the company said Algolia will use the funding to open an office in London in addition to offices in Paris, San Francisco, New York City, and Atlanta. In addition, the company wants to fund marketing for new customers and further development of new features.
