Viz Raises $8 Million to combine artificial intelligence and medical imaging

Artificial intelligence startup Viz announced the completion of $8 million in seed financing. Three investors participated in the round: Danhua Capital, Innovation Endeavors, and AME Cloud Ventures.

Viz is an AI medical imaging company that helps optimize emergency treatment. Viz was founded by Chris Mansi, a neurosurgeon and Stanford MBA; David Golan, PhD, a statistics postdoc from Stanford with expertise in AI and deep-learning networks; and Manoj Ramachandran, a consulting orthopedic surgeon and hospital CIO.

The company said it will use the funding to accelerate development and market penetration of its platform, initially focusing on stroke patients.
