Red Hat Acquires Codenvy for An Undisclosed Sum

Codenvy announced it has been acquired by Red Hat, an American multinational software company providing open-source software products to the enterprise community.

Codenvy provisions, shares and scales developer environments. Offered as a SaaS, on-premises or white label service and based upon open Eclipse projects, Codenvy’s speed, security, and extensibility powers 350,000 projects.

Codenvy has 50 employees in offices in San Francisco, Redding, Luxembourg, and Cherkasy, Ukraine. Codenvy had raised $9M from Toba Capital, Auriga Ventures, and individual angels.
