Expedia Acquires SilverRail Technologies for an Undisclosed Sum

Expedia, Inc., (EXPE) and transportation technology company SilverRail Technologies, Inc., today announced an agreement under which Expedia will acquire a majority stake in SilverRail.

SilverRail offers technical solutions that help railways and travel distributors easily connect with each other. The company works with distributors to help them access and sell rail in more than eight countries, and with carriers themselves, enabling them to manage their retail operations and, ultimately, own their customer experience. The company’s key product, SilverCore, is the world’s first unified platform for global rail, connecting rail carriers with the worldwide ecosystem of travel distributors and managers through the implementation of simple, cost-effective technology.
