Sun Basket just closed $9 million in Series C financing. Nine investors contributed to the round, including Unilever, Baseline Ventures, and Circle Ventures.

Sun Basket was founded by Adam Zbar, the former head chef of the award-winning The Slanted Door restaurant in San Francisco. The company offers a healthy meal kit delivery service with organic ingredients and easy recipes, including Paleo, gluten-free and vegetarian options, delivered to consumers.

The company said the investment will help it scale by allowing it to take advantage of Unilever’s unrivaled expertise in consumer packaged goods marketing, distribution, and logistics.
